Kenmore has appointed Will Hean as Development Director to work on a growing number of opportunities in the Middle East.

Kenmore has announced a further expansion of its Dubai office with the appointment of Will Hean as its new Development Director for the region. Will joins Colin Wright who heads up Kenmore's operations in the Middle East and Natalie Obayda who will work alongside them both as Associate Director.
Will has joined Kenmore to assist with the growing number of existing opportunities the business is promoting as well as looking at new opportunities as they arise. Kenmore sees its Dubai base as a stepping stone to wider opportunities not only in the Gulf States of Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait but also into a much wider geographical area including India, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Morocco where some of Dubai’s leading developers are now focusing.
Prior to joining Kenmore Will ran his own business, Castlehill Properties, which focussed on major joint venture projects in the residential and commercial property markets. Prior to this he was Development Director at Roxburgh and Company in Edinburgh.
Recognising the attraction of a rapidly growing market, Kenmore established its office in Dubai in July 2006. Kenmore is currently developing over 1 million square feet of low cost residential units, in partnership with a local developer, which are currently being sold off plan. Located centrally, the Jumeirah Village development targets the undersupplied low cost market with apartments starting from around £30,000. Facilities at the development will include underground parking, a swimming pool and gymnasiums. The development will complete on a phased basis with the final plots expected to be finished in late 2009.
Andrew White, Head of UK and the Middle East adds:
“We are pleased Will has joined us at this exciting phase of Kenmore’s growth in the region. We believe there will be an over supply in the office and luxury residential sectors in Dubai in the next two years but with the anticipated growth in population through business and tourism in the region there will be an even greater requirement for accommodation for those people who support these industries.”
Commenting on his appointment Will Hean, said:
“Dubai has a two tier market. There is a local market in the areas where foreigners cannot own and a worldwide market where everyone else can buy. We believe the way forward is to align ourselves with the right local companies to enable us to access both elements of the market. Much of time since the company started working in Dubai has been spent forging relationships with the right companies locally and in the next few months we will be able to make some announcements on this front which we hope will drive our expansion forward as a company both in the UAE and the wider Gulf area.”
